MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — CHAMP Spikes reports a three-win weekend. This triple weekend comes on the heels of CHAMP capturing its second straight "Grand Slam," as the winners of all four Majors chose CHAMP again this year.
The winner of the Wyndham Championship wore CHAMP Scorpion Stinger™ spikes and shot a 9-under 63 on Sunday, for his first victory on the PGA Tour. The young Tennessean finished with a remarkable 22-under 266, for a two-stroke win. Overall, CHAMP controlled the leaderboard as the combination of Stinger, ProStinger™ and traditional steel Cermec® dominated, as eight out of the top ten were wearing CHAMP spikes.
Stinger was victorious once again on the LPGA Tour as the top-ranked Mexican star wore the CHAMP Scorpion Stinger spikes en route to victory. The champion finished at 16-under 268 on the Royal Mayfair course to win the Canadian Women's Open for her second straight victory and fifth of the season. Once again, the leaderboard was dotted with CHAMP as nearly 80% of LPGA golfers wear CHAMP Spikes.
Overseas, the winner of the Enjoy Jakarta Astro Indonesia Open in February won his second European Tour victory of the year, this title coming at the Scandinavian Masters in Stockholm, Sweden. The champion wore the CHAMP Cermec steel spike to take the tournament after a final round 68. The Finnish native provided a dramatic finale as he birdied the final hole and was able to hang on for the two-stroke win.
"After our second Grand Slam victory for spikes it is great to see that there was no let down. Winning on three different tours and sharing in a young professional's first ever tour victory is something no company could ever predict," said Harris MacNeill President of CHAMP Spikes. "It is a wonderful follow-up to an already awesome feat. We look forward to the PGA playoffs and the tour coming to Massachusetts, our home turf."
