2005-04-19 - The GolfWorks Advances Club Repair Education

NEWARK, Ohio – Each year hundreds of professional clubmakers, tour pros and golf industry experts from around the world place their trust in The GolfWorks’ Clubmaking Academy Schools for their training and expertise. Most recently sharpening their skills at the Total Golf Club Repair School, graduates of the three-day session included: Richard Evans of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; Terry Zwirner of Macomb, Mich.; George Coleman of Indian Head, Md.; Brett Moomey of Bellerive Golf Shop, St. Louis, Mo.; Larrem Panganiban of Chicago, Ill.; Svein Tore Tande of Molde, Norway; and Jamie Parkinson, Adam Glen, and Tom Foster of Sarnia, Ontario.

“The technical experts at The GolfWorks Total Golf Club Repair School teach students how to handle virtually any repair,” says Britt Lindsey, vice president of technical services at The GolfWorks. “We have worked overtime in creating a comprehensive state-of-the-art program and are excited to be providing such invaluable instruction to those who seek to perfect their repair abilities.”

In addition to group and individual instruction from The Clubmaking Academy’s professional staff, each student receives hands-on experience at their own fully equipped personal workstations. The training offered at the Total Golf Club Repair School covers the gambit, including refinishing metal woods; applying satin, high polish or tumble finishes to irons and metal woods; custom grinding wedges/irons; graphite and steel shaft removal; re-shafting with steel or graphite; re-shafting irons and standard metal woods; installing club length extensions, removing/replacing oversized shafts; and slip-on rubber or wrap grip replacement.

Since 1982 thousands, including technicians currently working for companies like Callaway, Titleist, Golf Digest, Nike, True Temper and United Sports Technologies, have relied on The GolfWorks Clubmaking Academy Schools to provide exceptional instruction and expertise.
