SUNLAND, Calif. — Pat Dempsey, the 2002 RE/MAX World Long Drive Senior Champion and the 2005 ALDA senior champion, has registered to compete at the 2007 Re/Max World Long Drive Championship, Senior Division, on October 24, 2007, in Mesquite, Nev.
Dempsey will vie for his second world title, playing a Proforce V2 Long Drive ‘LD’ graphite shaft, designed and manufactured by UST® (United Sports Technologies) and distributed by Horsepower Golf of Sunland, Calif. The driver will also debut Golfsmith’s new Yellow Hornet LD clubhead. The new Yellow Hornet driver is available 6.5-degree and 7.5-degree loft and has been approved by the U.S. Golf Association.
The Proforce V2 has already paid off big dividends for Long Drive professionals. Long drive favorites such as Fred Groth and Brooks Baldwin and champions such as Paul ‘Hammer Time’ Glazier and Nyle Pruitt — as well as other Long Drive pros — have won long drive competitions around the world using with Proforce V2 LD shafts.
“The V2 LD is the most likeable shaft I have ever hit,” says Dempsey, who owns and operates Horsepower Golf. ”The shaft is easy to load and has an explosive release of energy at impact. It’s like a bullwhip. When a whip unloads, the energy runs down smoothly and increases in speed until the energy releases at the tip. The V2 LD performs the same way, yet its torsional strength provides a lot of control.”
The Proforce V2 LD graphite shaft features a longer-than-standard length to target golfers looking for an explosive release of energy in a longer shaft. The parabolic shaft design — made two inches longer than standard with an increased parallel tip section — provides a perfect set-up for all golfers. Shaft performance and how it relates to ball spin and launch angle is more important than ever, explains Dempsey, and the new Proforce V2 LD delivers an explosive release that works for all player types.
The new Yellow Hornet drivers are scheduled to be available through Golfsmith and Horsepower Golf in the next few weeks.
