2004-11-24 - Royal Grip Receives Golf Tips Tech Award for Innovation

TORRINGTON, Conn. — The editors of Golf Tips Magazine have awarded Royal Grip’s RMD-200 dual-density grip — designed by Royal Precision — with a 2004 Technology Award for “Innovative Grip Design.”

The Golf Tips Technology Awards — 20 in all — feature the clubhead, shaft and grip designs that are considered truly innovative by Golf Tips editors, key retailers and industry design experts. Appearing in the Nov./Dec. issue of Golf Tips, the Awards showcased the RMD-200 ‘Royal Multi-Density Technology,’ wrap-style grip that feels, as though each grip was specifically custom-made. RMD allows the combination of different surface textures and ‘durometer’ (or hardness) within the same grip model.

“We’re extremely honored to receive the Golf Tips Technology Award for grip innovation,” says John Lauchnor, president and CEO of Royal Precision. “The RMD-200 is unquestionably one of the most innovative grip designs ever introduced to the market. Through our revolutionary, new patented process, Royal Multi-Density Technology (RMD™) blends dual-density compounds within the same grip model to provide customized feel and torsional stability for improved game performance.”

Available in three models — soft (gray), mid-range (red) or tour firmness (blue) — each RMD-200 grip features a state-of-the-art, firm core that maintains stability and control by reducing torque and twisting at impact unlike other soft-style grips. A color-compound inlay then customizes softness from 20 to 45 durometer or hardness‚ for individual feel and maximum performance.

Royal Grips by Royal Precision combine years of Tour experience and multiple material compounds which allow a wide variety of textures, surface patterns and feel combinations. From buffed, soft, velvet-like textures to the slot corded rubber for maximum traction, Royal Grips provide unparalleled cushion and allow golfers to choose their own winning feel.
