2005-03-01 - Rifle Steel Dominates World Golf Championships

TORRINGTON, Conn. — Winning the first-, second- and third-place money positions, premium Rifle steel shafts by Royal Precision dominated the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship and continued the fastest pace PGA win streak in Rifle’s history. This week’s WGC Matchplay champion trusted Rifle Project X shafts to provide the performance, consistency and accuracy which was critical for victory and to extend Rifle Project X’s 2005 record to three wins in the last four weeks.

In the Top 10 tally at the WGC Championship, Rifle Project X irons earned first-place; Rifle Lite irons claimed second-place; and Rifle Flighted irons took third.

“To have three different shaft models place in the top three money positions is extremely rare for any shaft manufacturer. This has truly been an incredible start to the season,” says John Lauchnor, president and CEO of Royal Precision. “The WGC Championship was the fifth PGA event in eight weeks in which Rifle steel shafts have made a winning difference, and we’re extremely excited that Rifle products are recognized by the finest players in the world as the premium choice for steel shafts.”

Often considered the world’s most advanced steel shaft, Rifle Project X shafts incorporate four unique technologies to generate unparalleled performance and consistency. Only Rifle steel shafts offer: Frequency Matching that perfectly matches a set of clubs through electronic calibration; Stepless Design Technology that eliminates the energy-robbing ‘steps’ found on most other steel shafts, and provides greater accuracy and a smooth, yet solid, feel at impact; Patented Internal ‘Rifling’ that transfers energy more efficiently than other steel shafts, reduces vibration and increases distance; and advanced Flighted Technology that features produces variable ball trajectories for different clubs within a single set.

So far on the 2005 PGA Tour, premium Rifle steel shafts have won the Mercedes Championship, FBR Open, AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, Chrysler Classic of Tucson, and the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship.
