TORRINGTON,
Conn. — For the third consecutive year,
premium Rifle® shafts delivered a victory
in golf’s ancestral home, winning the
Barclays Scottish Open and earning this year’s
rookie champion a coveted position at St. Andrews
next week. The dramatic win was the seventh
on the year for the Rifle Project X shaft which
has received high praise among PGA pros, many
of whom recognize the Project X as the world’s
most advanced iron shaft.
“The Scottish Open is a great victory for
Rifle Project X shafts, and it clearly shows
how many
of the world’s best golfers prefer to play
premium products which incorporate state-of-the-art,
custom ball flight engineering compared to the
numerous steel shafts that still use 30-year-old,
stepped designs,” says John Lauchnor, president
and CEO of Royal Precision. “The sophisticated
Rifle® Project X is an incredibly advanced
blend of new technologies, and it is has an unmatched
reputation on professional tours for providing
quick ball launch and a long, penetrating trajectory.”
As the Rifle brand celebrates its 10th year on
Tour, the Project X has delivered an extremely
exciting 2005 PGA season, adds Lauchnor. The
Rifle Project X iron shaft was a six-time winner
on the PGA Tour last year, including the Masters.
With the PGA season at the half-way point for
2005, the Project X has already delivered seven
victories.
Often recognized for its innovative and patented
design, Rifle Project X shafts help players maintain
their highest level of consistency by using a
different per-inch constant taper that provides
greater energy transfer to the ball at impact
and optimum trajectory. In addition, the Project
X incorporates four unique technologies to generate
unparalleled performance. Only Rifle steel shafts
offer: Frequency Matching that perfectly matches
a set of clubs through electronic calibration;
Stepless Design Technology that eliminates the
energy-robbing ‘steps’ found on most
other steel shafts, and provides greater accuracy
and a smooth, yet solid, feel at impact; Patented
Internal ‘Rifling’ that transfers
energy more efficiently than other steel shafts,
reduces vibration and increases distance; and
advanced Flighted Technology that features produces
variable ball trajectories for different clubs
within a single set.
In 2005, Royal Precision also introduced an all-new
Project X wood shaft. Both Rifle Project X iron
and wood shafts are available in flexes 5.0,
5.5, 6.0, 6.5 and 7.0.
