- UST Proforce V2 Available in Titleist’s
Tour-Proven Pro Titanium 905 Drivers |
FORT
WORTH, Texas — United Sports Technologies®,
one of the largest and most successful graphite
golf shaft manufacturers in the world, today
announced that Titleist added the company’s
all-new Proforce® V2 shaft as a stock option
in its Tour-proven Pro Titanium 905 drivers.
“UST’s new V2 shaft was engineered
with oversized drivers like the 400cc Titleist
905
in-mind. Thus, its super low-torque and balanced
tip section offers an incredibly stable clubhead
that transfers more energy to the ball at impact
offering golfers better control and greater distance,
explained Don Rahrig, vice president of engineering
and OEM sales for UST. “The exciting part
about this project with Titleist is that we will
reach the serious golfer with a product system
that exceeds performance expectations.”
The Pro Titanium 905 drivers with the V2 installed
will be available at authorized Titleist dealers
nationwide starting October 1. However, the new
V2 is available immediately through Titleist’s
custom fitting department. After extensive testing,
Titleist will offer the 75-gram Proforce V2 model
at no upcharge to dealers in the 905T and 905S
drivers. Additionally, the 65- and 85-gram shaft
models can be special ordered through Titleist’s
custom fitting department.
“The UST Proforce V2 shaft has been established
as a leading choice among professional and better
golfers. We have validated its performance
in the new 905 driver by successfully seeding
the product on Tour and among top playing club
professionals,” added Chris McGinley, vice
president golf club marketing, Titleist. “We
are pleased to offer this shaft as both a stock
and custom option in our high performance 905
driver line.”
Titleist ambassador Adam Scott played the V2
in his Titleist driver to win the Nissan Open
and Johnny Walker Classic earlier this year.
On Tour, Jay Haas, Kevin Na, Robert Gamez and
Kevin Stadler are among the Titleist equipment
players currently using the Proforce V2 in their
driver and fairway woods.
UST’s new Proforce V2 is an incredibly
powerful, super low-torque golf shaft that masterfully
balances torque, weight, spin and launch angle.
The result is a high-performance graphite shaft
that offers higher launch angles, increased ball
speed with less spin for a tighter shot pattern.
The new 905 drivers feature an innovative multi
material design including a CNC milled, high
grade, structural aluminum hosel tube, precise
cast titanium body, and a thin, high-strength
beta titanium face insert. This construction
allows for unproductive mass to be removed from
the hosel area and strategically relocated into
internal weight pads, creating a more optimal
center of gravity. The plasma welded beta titanium
face insert is supported by a thin outer face
flange, and produces higher ball speed and the
maximum allowable Coefficient of Restitution.
The cleaner plasma weld process eliminates weld
material in the face to create a more efficient
overall weight distribution
