WORTH, Texas — Not only was the IROD® Hybrid
graphite shaft by United Sports Technologies® (UST)
the No. 1 hybrid shaft at this week’s Buick
Championship, but this year’s champion
trusted the IROD Hybrid shaft to deliver a winning
performance at the TPC at River Highlands in
Cromwell, Conn. The 44-year-old champion played
a Sonartec MD hybrid club upgraded with a IROD
hybrid shaft and tied the course record in regulation
with a 9-under 61.

technology that is clearly visible in each hybrid
shaft model. For example,
on the butt section of every IROD shaft, golfers
can clearly see the custom-engineered carbon
fiber material that enhances the feel and stability
of the shaft on every shot. Also, as a part of
new Interlinked Carbon technology, high modulus
graphite fibers are specially woven to provide
hoop strength and stiffness. Fibers running vertically
provide stiffness while the fibers running at
90 degrees prevent the shaft from deforming or
flattening under load.
